FACULTY Frederick James Lebeck (60) May 12, 1913 - Aug 19, 1973 Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Aug. 20, 1973 F. James Lebeck, 60, of 1033 Egan Ave., Pacific Grove, died today at his residence after a lingering illness. He was a coach of baseball, swimming, football and golf at Pacific Grove High School before retiring in 1966 for reasons of health. His golf teams won the league championship six years in a row. In all, he served in the Pacific Grove school system for 26 years. Born May 12, 1913 in Fairview, Mont., he came to California in 1922, and had lived in Pacific Grove since 1942. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in physical education. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove, the Pacific Grove Recreation Commission, the board of directors of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, the Sierra Club, and past president of the Community Center Foundation of Pacific Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; a son, Jerry; a daughter, Mrs. Richard N. (Cynthia) Little Jr.; his mother, Mrs. Lora Lebeck; and two grandchildren, all of Pacific Grove. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove with the Revs. Dale Baker and George Lutz officiating. Private inurnment will be at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove. Contributions are preferred to the First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove or the Pacific Grove High School Scholarship Fund.
