Lamar Herbert Raley, 49, of Pacific Grove, a lifelong resident of the Monterey Peninsula, died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Menlo Park.
Mr. Raley was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Monterey. He worked in the auto-body shop at Beatty Ford in Monterey for six years and then as a commercial fisherman for 10 years.
Mr. Raley served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, a daughter, Jennifer, and his mother, Carmelita Raley, all of Pacific Grove; and a sister, Florence Lindstrom of Salinas.
A gathering of friends will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the family home. The Paul Mortuary was in charge of cremation and ashes will be scattered at sea off Big Sur.
