January 17,2009 ADMINISTRATION Wylie Thaddeus Captain (83) Desert Sun, CA Jan. 27, 2009 Wylie Captain, who passed away Jan. 17, 2009, was born Aug. 27, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pa. While attending Dormont High School, he was drafted into the Army to serve in World War 2. His military duty was as a cameraman and he became a photographer for General Eisenhower during his service. After returning home he earned a masters in Psychology and then was again sent to war in Korea. When he returned he went into psychology for the California school systems which he eventually retired from. He then began to volunteer for the Braille Institute at several nursing homes and Eisenhower Medical Center. Wylie was described as a soft and gentle man by everyone he came in contact with. Wylie is survived by his Companion, Eileen Parlee; Their Scotty Christie and his son, Mark Captain.
